The man, driving a small, dark-colored four-door sedan, initially offered the girl a ride Friday afternoon, deputies said. The man drove ahead and blocked the girl’s path with the vehicle, then shouted at her repeatedly to get into the vehicle, according to a report. The girl ran and the man drove away, deputies said.
The man was described as white, small in stature with a long, gray beard and gray hair. He is believed to be between 40 and 50 years old. Some of the encounter was captured on a nearby business’ surveillance camera, deputies said.

• A 33-year-old North Ridge West, Saybrook Township man, faces multiple charges connected to an alleged domestic violence incident Monday.
According to a report, the man became “out of control” and threw his bowl of oatmeal at his 30-year-old girlfriend and the mother of his 3-year-old child. He grabbed and smashed the phone on which she attempted to call for help and removed the batteries from other phones in the house.
The report stated that the suspect shoved the woman against a wall, causing her to hit her head; the victim claimed she was unconscious for a few moments.
The woman’s children, ages 3 and 5, attempted to stop the attack. The man left in the woman’s vehicle.
Saybrook Township Fire and Rescue was called and the woman was transported to the hospital; she had a large lump on her head, according to the report, but was released later in the day.
The woman’s car was discovered at a West 57th Street, Ashtabula, address later in the day. The suspect was at the residence and arrested. He faces charges of disrupting public services, endangering children and domestic violence.

No sign of forced entry could be found, according to the report.
