• A 50-year-old Rock Creek woman said her 33-year-daughter hit her in the face after a verbal altercation turned into a physical one Tuesday.
According an Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department report, the disagreement was over the daughter refusing to wash a frying pan. The victim said it was the second time she had been assaulted by the daughter, who also allegedly destroyed her mother’s phone.
The incident is being reviewed for domestic violence and disruption of public service charges.
• An employee of a North Ridge West, Saybrook Township, store discovered her purse was missing after a man and woman were in the store and attempted to sell jewelry. The incident occurred Tuesday, according to the report.
• The department is investigating a report of burglary from an Ashtabula Township home on Nov. 15.
According to the report, $491 worth of Playstation gear was missing. A man visiting a neighbor’s home observed a suspect.
• A 14-year-old Broadview Heights male claimed he was shot at least five times on Saturday while hunting with his father near Myers Road in Geneva Township.
According to the report, the youth was heading back to their vehicle when a property owner yelled at him and fired shots.
A suspect later told a deputy that he was test firing a weapon into a mound of dirt.
The incident is under review for a felonious assault charge.
