BARDSTOWN, Ky. — Michael "Mikey" Bret Young, age 21, of Bardstown, Ky., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.

Born July 23, 1991, in Bardstown, he was the son of Eric and Jennifer Riggs Young.

Mikey was an employee for Bluegrass Cooperage, a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, and an avid hunter, fisherman, four-wheeler, and outdoorsman.

Survivors include a son, Peyton Michael Young; his parents, Eric and Jennifer Riggs Young; a sister, Kelsey Young, all of Bardstown; his girlfriend, Angela Marie Vittitow of New Haven; maternal grandfather, Tommy Riggs, of Boston; maternal grandmother, Carol Ann Head Riggs of Bardstown; paternal grandfather, Howard Ray Young Jr. of Navarre, Fla.; paternal grandmother, Lee Ann Johnston of Ashtabula, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 23rd, at Our Lady of Peace, Mt. Carmel, 1200 E. 21st St. and Columbus Ave., Ashtabula.

Memorial contributions for the Peyton Michael Young trust fund may be sent to his great-grandmother, Lee Ann Johnston.
