HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP — Barbara J. Echerd, age 68, of Harpersfield Township, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was born March 4, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Raymond and Marion (Kidd) Bowler.
She was owner/operator of Echerd Custom Embroidery. She was Past Madam Vice President of the Geneva Eagles and she was active in Harpersfield Township functions, including the Beef Roast. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving her is her husband, James Echerd whom she married August 16, 2008; her step-father, Kyle Depoy of Geneva; five children, Keith (Christine) Stancliff of Harpersfield, Daniel (Becky) Stancliff of St. Mary, Ga., Briant (Lisa) Baker of Katy, Texas, Kevin (Terry) Baker of Currituck, N.C. and Debra Reynolds of Ashland, Ohio; two step-children, Denise (Victor) Weinmann and Jamie Echerd, both of Harpersfield; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy (Paul) Terlosky of Macedonia, Ohio; and a brother, Bill (Kathy) Bowler of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her previous husband, Richard Baker.
A Memorial Service will be held 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21st, at the Geneva Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio, with the Rev. Fred Grimm, of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, officiating.
Calling Hours will be from 5 p.m. until time of Service, Monday, at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Harpersfield Township Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
