MADISON — Don E. Stallard, age 84, a resident of Madison, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing And Rehab in Madison.
Born August 26, 1928, in Gate City, Va., he was the son of the late Geneva Jane (Wilhelm) and Dewey Hobart Stallard. Don was a 1949 graduate of Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va., and he also attended Virginia Polytech Institute. On Dec. 30, 1950, he married Carol June Taylor.
A Veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Don worked as a Chemist for Diamond Shamrock for 33 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a Consultant for Analytical Biochemical Corporation in Columbia, Mo., for 3 years and operated D.E. Stallard and Daughters Nursery from 1972-2002.
Survivors include his wife, Carol June Stallard; his daughters, Doris Lee LeMoyne and Tammie Susan Stallard; grandchildren, Michael (LeighAnn Rodd) Deurlein, Stephen Deurlein, Sarah LeMoyne, LeeAnne (John) Julien and Amy LeMoyne; sister-in-law, Helen Stallard; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend and child of God, Cecil King.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James, Frank and Dewey Stallard.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, 26 River St., Madison.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12th, at the Funeral Home. Dear friend Tom Keenan will officiate the services. Final resting place will be at Dock Road Cemetery in Madison.
