CONNEAUT — Eva Lou “Evy” Johnston, age 72, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Thursday evening, March 14, 2013, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.
She was born April 1, 1940, in Erie, Pa., the daughter of Frank L. and Helen (Graves) Hammond. Evy was a graduate of West Springfield, Pa. High School.
Evy was employed at Premix Corp. in North Kingsville for 37 years, retiring in 2001. She and her husband were members of the Lighthouse Cruisers and enjoyed going to the car shows, and riding their Gold Wing motorcycle. She was fond of flower gardening, and especially enjoyed meeting her friends every Thursday at Perkins for lunch and to play cards.
Survivors include two sons, Barry (Rendi) Johnston and Dale (Rachel) Johnston, all of Conneaut; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Robert (Jessie), Nathan (Connie), Joshua, Amber, Brady and Shelby Johnston; and three great-grandchildren, Tanner, A.J. and Gabriella plus Tessa Nicole Faith Johnston due to be born in June. Also surviving is her brother, Ray O. Hammond of Conneaut; and well as nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard “Bernie” Johnston in 2012; a son, Anthony “Skip” Johnston; two brothers, Carl “Lee” Hammond and Leslie Hammond; and her sister, Audrey Clauson.
Funeral Services will be 12 Noon, Monday, March 18th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Les Bolen, of Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at Noon.
