CLEVELAND — Dolores A. Knuth, age 83, a resident of Roaming Shores, Ohio, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Born Jan. 26, 1929, in Steubenville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Elodia and Joseph Gallupoli.
A Homemaker and Musician, Dolores married Norman Knuth on Sept. 20, 1954, in Garfield Heights, Ohio. In 1954, Dolores’s stage name “Dee Gallo” met the love of her life, Norm, when she won a singing contest at the opening of the Skylark Supper Club in Cleveland. It was a marriage of making beautiful music performing together on several radio shows on WDOK and WELW.
She was a member of the East End YMCA in Madison and the Cleveland Federation of Musicians.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Cit) Cameron of Austinburg; a grandson, Ryan Czerwonko of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Carl (Ruth) Gallupoli and George (Paula) Gallupoli; and two sisters, Dorothy (Tom) McNulty and Patricia (Basil) Russo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Knuth; her parents, Joseph and Elodia Gallupoli; and a sister, Ann Masavage.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio.
