CLEVELAND — Dixie M. Wright, age 74, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Monday afternoon, Oct. 22, 2012, at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, following a short illness.
Born August 3, 1938, in Conneaut, she was the daughter of George and May (Ruggles) Jones.
A 1956 graduate of Rowe High School, Dixie was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was employed as a service representative at the A.A.A. in Conneaut for six years.
A member of First Baptist Church where she served as treasurer, she was a caregiver and a member of the visitation team. She enjoyed her friends, her church family and helping other people. She also enjoyed internet computing, staying in touch with friends, keeping up with their activities, and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice “Sam” Wright Jr., whom she married April 11, 1964; two daughters, Tammy (Tim) Sherman of Swanton, Ohio, and Peggy Wright of Cleveland; her sister, Edna Kacso of Conneaut; and nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Emily Nickels; and brother, Merle Jones; and a number of siblings at birth.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26th, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery at a later date.
Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening, Oct. 25th, from 6 to 8 p.m.
