ORWELL — Albert Alonzo King, age 88, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, slipped away quietly in his sleep to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, Feb. 24, 2013. He passed away at his home on Davis Road in Orwell Township surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Corley, W.Va., on August 16, 1924, the 11th of 12 children and the last to survive, born to the late Olen C. and Martha A. (Lake) King. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War II and served on a mine sweeper following the invasion of Pearl Harbor. Mr. King was married to his sweetheart, Macel Eileen Bender on Feb. 28, 1953, in Webster Springs, W.Va. His earthly presence will not be here, but he will live on forever in her heart on this special day, their 60th Anniversary and his home going day.

Faith was a large part of his life, he was often remembered for sitting and reading his Bible. Mr. King was a talented musician, playing any stringed instrument. He was especially noted for playing the violin (fiddle) and has performed on both radio and television. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He always had his special greeting to his family members, “the nudge”, the light touch of his elbow, to show how much you meant to him.
His survivors include his wife, M. Eileen King; four children, Chester N. (Jane) King of Kissimmee, Fla., E. Duane (Barbara) King of Bristol, Wis., Paula J.
