GENEVA — Lorene E. Peltoma, age 93, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at UH Geneva Medical Center.
Born Oct. 30, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Alice (Walker) and Edward F. Distler. She married William Peltoma in Perry, Ohio, on April 19, 1941.
Mrs. Peltoma enjoyed knitting, gardening and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor where she was a Sunday school teacher. She also was active in Cub Scouts as a den mother for many years and was a member of the Disabled Veterans Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Sandra) Peltoma of San Angelo, Texas, and Ned (Mary) Peltoma of Geneva; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; and son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Peggy.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7th, at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Hannu Vepsäläinen, of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor, officiating. Burial will be at North Madison Cemetery in Madison.
