JEFFERSON — Vivian L. Golembiowski, age 87, of Andover, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Jefferson Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Mesopotamia, Ohio, a daughter of Virgil W. and Lela (Maurer) Grenter. A resident of Jefferson since 1997, Mrs. Golembiowski was formerly of Andover.
She was employed by Reliance Electric Co. in Ashtabula for 31 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Austinburg Grange; and the Reliance Electric IUE Local #737, where she served as steward for several years. She enjoyed attending her retirees luncheons; cooking, baking, especially apple pies, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed polka dancing with her husband.
Mrs. Golembiowski married Michael A. Golembiowski on July 27, 1952; and he preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1997. Also preceding her in death are her parents; and one sister, Fern Lenyo.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph A. (Carla) Golembiowski of Glendale, Ariz., John P. (Lori) Golembiowski of Johnston township, Ohio and Larry E. Golembiowski of Ocala, Fla.; a step-son, Michael A. (Linda) Gee of Orlando, Fla.; a step-daughter, Jeanne A. (Frank) Valentik of Avon Park, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Christy, Joey, Sophie, Lexi, Lori, Skip, Casey, Kelly, Stephanie, and Charity; 12 great-grandchildren, Macie, Paige, Lydia, Baby girl, Dalton, Hannah, Stephanie, Ava, Kai, Mason, Tyson, and Trevor; and one sister, Evelyn I. Manes of Jefferson, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5th ,at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 481 S. Main St., Andover, Ohio, with Father Matthew Albright officiating. A private interment of cremated remains will take place later in West Andover Cemetery.
