BUENA VISTA, Co. — Former Conneaut resident, James “Jim” Francis Glus, age 61, who was born April 11, 1951, in Conneaut, Ohio, to Leonard Glus (Edinboro, Pa.) and Jane (Burnette) Glus (Albion, Pa.), died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at his home in Buena Vista, Co.
Jim is survived by his mother; wife, Doris Puma of Buena Vista, Co.; brother, Richard (Darlene) Glus of Medina, Ohio; son, Jeremy (Amber) Glus of Buena Vista, Co.; daughter, Lisa Glus of Oak Bluffs, Mass.; step-son, Jason Puma of Seal Beach, Calif.; step-daughter, Melissa Puma of Flagler Beach, Fla.; and beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Jim attended St. Mary’s school in Conneaut and graduated high school in 1969 from St. John High School in Ashtabula, Ohio. He enjoyed a successful career as a salesman working with Brockway Marine in both Ohio and Pennsylvania for many years and was a partial owner of the Erie Angler for several years in Pennsylvania. Jim then continued his sales career in Florida as a yacht broker and with the company PJ Max that he and Doris shared. He most recently worked as a salesman for Sanfords in Fairplay, Co.
In addition to being an avid yachtsman and outdoor enthusiast, Jim also enjoyed auto racing, motorcycles and had a great love for music. He played music professionally with his brother for many years throughout North/Northeastern Ohio with the bands “The Hyway Men” and “Harpy”.
There will be a community gathering in Jim’s honor at the MARCY FAMILY CENTER, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13th.
