WINDSOR —
Gerald D. Hornung, age 61, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at his home.
Born June 19, 1951, he was the son of Carl Adam Hornung and the late Helen Leona Schlarb Hornung. “Jerry” was a resident of Windsor since 1974 and formerly resided in Rome, Ohio.
He worked for CE Tyler, Northeastern Maintenance, RMI, Ashtabula Rubber Co. and was currently employed at KraftMaid Cabinetry for the past 14 years.
Jerry enjoyed puttering around his house, riding his four-wheeler, bicycling, shopping trips to Mentor, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a past member of St. Mary Church in Orwell and served the church in many capacities. He was a Scout Master for Troop 72 of Orwell for several years in the 1980’s.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Drugatz Hornung; sons, Jeremy (Marie) and Jonathan (Laura) Hornung; grandchildren, Allison, Lucas, Joseph and Savannah Hornung; father, Carl A. Hornung of Rome; brothers, Carl J. (Donna) and John Hornung; sister, Karen Sardella; brother-in-law, James (Dorothy) Drugatz; sisters-in-law, Madeline (Ron Krivejko) Hall and Carol (Donald) Schulz; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Schlarb Hornung on Feb. 20, 1998
Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 21st, at PAINE-GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 140 E. Main St., Orwell, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Rome Center Cemetery, Rome, Ohio.
