ASHTABULA —
Eleanor C. Hubbard passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Carl Arthur and Hilda (Naskali) Hakundy. She married George Hubbard on May 29, 1948.
Eleanor had worked for many years as a teller, then assistant manager of Peoples Savings and Loan Bank in Ashtabula.
Eleanor was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church; past treasurer of the Harbor Coalition; past treasurer of the Bethany Lutheran Sisters; Harbor High Alumni Association; Finnish American Heritage Association; sang in the Messiah Chorus; Ashtabula Women’s Club; and past “Grey Lady” at Ashtabula County Medical Center. She had been active in the past with the Ashtabula Little League, Cub Scouts and Indian Guides.
Eleanor is survived by her sons, Brian Lee (Sandra) Hubbard of Ashtabula, Gary Lynn (Tammy) Hubbard of Aurora, Co., and David Arthur Hubbard of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Kristy Lee (Bill Scoville) and Cory Allen (Ashley Gritzer) Hubbard, both of Ashtabula, Kyle Austin and Garrett Lee Hubbard, both of Aurora, Co.; great-grandchildren, Zachary Brian Erb and Tegan Michael Scoville; sister, Ruth (Alex) Yager of Euclid, Ohio; and best friend, May Colling of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George in 2005.
Funeral Services are 11 a.m., Thursday, May 17th, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 933 Michigan Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Larry Mackey officiating.
Calling hour is 10 a.m. until service time at the Church. Burial is in Edgewood Cemetery.
