GENEVA —
Henry J. Cvetko, age 85, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Kingsville, Ohio.
Born March 2, 1927, in Geneva, Ohio, to Pauline (Malnar) and Anton Cvetko Sr. A 1945 graduate of Collinwood High School and 1952 graduate of Fenn College where he earned bachelors degrees in both civil engineering and physics, he served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II.
Mr. Cvetko was director of Engineering for Astatic Corp., retiring in 1979, where he invented and patented the Golden Eagle Microphone.
He enjoyed music and played the accordion in a Polka band which made several TV appearances on the Polka Variety Show in Cleveland, Ohio. He was also an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlotte (Oscar) Kobernik of Conneaut, Ohio; granddaughters, Colleen Anthony and Kelly (Jeff) Temple, both of Conneaut, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Kyle Kobernik and Piper Anthony; nephews, Anton “Chippy” (Reem) Cvetko of Michigan and Barry (Kim) Cvetko of Willowick, Ohio; great-niece, Alexandria Cvetko of Michigan; and best friends and neighbors, Steve and Elaine Schafer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Anton Cvetko Jr.; and most faithful 4-legged companion, “Ziggy.”
At his request, private family services were observed.
