NEW LYME —
Janis A. Offutt, age 71, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born May 20, 1941, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Katherine (DiBell) and Robert A. Lane. On June 13, 1959, she married Donald Ray Offutt Sr.
Janis worked for Alphabet Company in Orwell for over five years and she then worked for the Pymatuning Resort in Williamsfield, Ohio.
She attended New Lyme Baptist Church and enjoyed baking. Janis loved to garden and had her own greenhouse to begin her plants.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ronald, Paul and David Lane; a great-granddaughter, Lily Rose Dewalt; and a great-grandson, Matthew Lee Offutt.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, Donald R. Offutt Sr.; four daughters, Beverly J. (Richard) Cipra of Williamsfield, Ohio, Karen S. (Kevin) Casady of Livonia, Mo., Teresa L. (Roy Mosley) Offutt of Cherry Valley, Ohio and April D. (Anthony) Urch of Kingsville, Ohio; two sons, Donald R. (Teresa) Offutt Jr. of Cherry Valley, Ohio and Michael L. (Aimee) Offutt of Memphis, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters, Ruth Martin, Roberta Burdick, Kathy Braggs, Carol Snyder, Barbara White and Dolores Jones; and one brother, Alan Lane.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 31st, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Brownville Cemetery in New Lyme, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 30th, at the Funeral Home.
