DORSET —
Gwenllian J. Thompson, age 75, of Dorset, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the St. Joseph Emergency Center in Andover, Ohio.
She was born March 31, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of William and Mary Alice (Williams) Davey.
A long time Dorset area resident, Gwen was employed as a home health aide for Regional Home Health Agency, retiring ten years ago. Prior to that, she was employed as a guard at the YDC in Ashtabula, Ohio.
She was an active member of Dorset United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women's group and participated in many bible studies. She was a former member of the Moose Club in Conneaut and the Eagle's Club in Andover. She also enjoyed golfing.
Gwen is survived by three sons, Danny (Kathy) Rodriguez of Minneapolis, Minn., Keith (Dawn) Rogers of Barberton, Ohio and Steve Irish of Jefferson, Ohio; three daughters, Linda Perfumo of Sparr, Fla., Lori (Jack) Brown of Pierpont, Ohio and Heather (Paul) Wolf of Jefferson, Ohio; her companion, Dick Thompson of Dorset, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ford Davey of Ashtabula, Ohio and Bill Davey of Texas; and two sisters, Mary Alice Morgan of Miami, Fla. and Flora Cosner of Conneaut, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-law, Ed Perfumo and James Comp Jr.; one sister-in-law, Maureen Davey; and one nephew, Bruce Hayes.
A Memorial Service will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, June 2nd, at Dorset Community Center, 2681 St. Rt. 193, Dorset, Ohio.
A private burial of cremated remains will take place in LuLu Falls Cemetery in Kingsville, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dorset United Methodist Church. BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, Andover, handled arrangements.
