SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP —
William J. “Billy” Laurila Jr., age 45, of Saybrook Township, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at his home
He was born Sept. 11, 1966, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of William J. Sr. and Yvonne B. (Kitchin) Laurila.
Billy attended Saybrook United Methodist Church and won many Best of Show ribbons for flowers at the Ashtabula Co. Fair. He was a member of Ohio State Trapping Association; Antique Trap Collectors; and the Fur, Fish and Game.
He was a Fenton Art Glass collector, liked hunting and fishing, collected Fish Ohio Pins and Army & Navy pins, and maple tree syrup tappers.
He is survived by his father, William “Bill” Sr. of Saybrook; brothers, John (Martha) of Saybrook, Tim (Lisa) of Silver Springs, Md. and Terry of Columbus; nieces, Jonamarie and Stephanie Laurila; friends, Michael Wheeler of Columbus and Tom Erb and Kevin Dunham, both of Ashtabula; and friends from Tuesday North Bend Auction.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne; and his dog, “Muggs”.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28th, at WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, with the Rev. Jeffrey Stoll, of Saybrook United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment at Saybrook Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 27th, at the Funeral Home
