KINGSVILLE — Lawrence Taylor, age 94, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Feb. 24, 1918, in Youngstown, Ohio, Lawrence was the son of the late Frend A. and Edna A. (Norton) Taylor. Lawrence married Catherine Lynch on July 14, 1939, in Richmond, Ohio.
Lawrence enjoyed puzzles, watching baseball and puttering around the garage. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Local #33, the Power Squadron and had his pilot license.
Lawrence is survived by his children, Paul (Anita) Taylor of Dublin, Ohio, Dorothy Kovacs and Ruth (Tuck) Melton, all of Ashtabula, and Roberta Centek of Kingsville; 10 grandchildren, Alecia Storch of Delaware, Ohio, Suzanne Taylor of New Jersey, Paul (Jo) Taylor Jr. of Dublin, Ohio, Ryan Taylor of Dublin, Ohio, Robert (Betsy) Moline of Ashtabula, Karen (John) Ferrando of Ashtabula, Debra Mayberry of Florida, David (Christine) Kovacs of Jefferson, Kim (Dan) Loose of Ashtabula and Cathy (Uriel) Walker of Jefferson; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry (Fern) Taylor of Cortland, Ohio; sister, Lulabelle Taylor of Willoughby, Ohio; and a son-in-law, Bob Moline of Ashtabula.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Lynch) Taylor and daughter, Alice Moline, both in 2008; brothers, Norman Taylor and Ross Taylor; and a sister, Juanice Rayer.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public services and cremation has been entrusted to the care of DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio.
