Clyde E. Baker Jr.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Clyde E Baker Jr., age 80, of Kissimmee Fla., passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

Clyde was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, on Sept. 9, 1932, the son of the late Clyde Elsworth and Mildred (Case) Baker. He served in the United States Army from 1949-1952 (during the Korean War).

After serving in the military, Mr. Baker was the office manager for J & L Steel in Ashtabula, Ohio and also served as the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for Jefferson Area Local Schools. 

Clyde is survived by his wife, Helen (Rogers) Baker; two daughters, Deborah A. Baker of Orlando Fla. and Linda M. Baker of Kissimmee Fla.; two sons, Kenneth L. Baker (fiancée, Diana Gaul) of Geneva Ohio and James A. Baker (wife, Robin Baker) of Jefferson Ohio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

While residing in Jefferson, he served as President of Jefferson Area Little League, Falcon Athletic Booster Club, and Jefferson Area Board of Education. Clyde was also involved with Falcon Follies and Jefferson Nazarene Church. After retirement, he and Helen moved to Kissimmee in 1995, where he was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Kissimmee, Fla., serving as Head Usher and a volunteer at the Give Kids the World center for terminally ill children. He enjoyed woodworking and was a gifted pianist.

Funeral Services were conducted on Thursday, Jan. 17th, at Good Samaritan Community Church in Kissimmee. Interment followed in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. with full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Honor Guard.
