Robert E. Glenn Jr.

MACON, Ga. — Robert Edwin “Bob” Glenn Jr. passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in Macon, Ga., at the age of 69.

Bob was born Sunday, April 18, 1943, in Tampa, Fla., the son of the late Leona McCracken-Butler and Robert Edwin Glenn Sr. Bob’s father, Robert Glenn Sr., was killed in combat actions during World War II, after which his mother Leona married his step-father, Richard Butler. Together they raised Bob and his sister Jenny and brothers Claude, more affectionately known as “Pete”, and Richard Butler Jr., known as “Rick” to family and friends.

Bob’s legacy included his extensive family and successful family business, Glenn Private Patrol, which he created in 1975 and is still in operation today. Bob will be remembered for his unwavering honesty, relentless work ethic, and enigmatic persona. His character earned the respect of many, his smile was infectious, and his wit and laughter will continue to comfort those who knew and loved him until we see him again.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Leona and Richard Butler; as well as his sister, Jenny; and his brother, Pete.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Julie Glenn; loving daughters, Tracey Anderson, Patricia Gruen, Terri (David) Barroso and Claudia Glenn; step-daughters, Justine and Jazmine Furnari; and precious grandchildren, Danicia, James and Charli Gruen, Hunter and Mikayla Anderson, Emma, Marcus and Bailey Barroso, Jade Pabon, Jaron Podmore and Julianna Garcia. Bob is also survived by his younger brother, Rick.

God blessed the family and friends of this incredible man with the love and life that he shared. As his brother so aptly announced upon his passing, now we all have an armed angel looking over us.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19th, at The United Church, 75 South Broadway, Geneva, Ohio.
