Stephen R. Kudlock

CONNEAUT — Stephen R. Kudlock, age 68, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, March 15, 2013, at UH-Conneaut Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Coudersport, Pa., the son of Stephen S. and Genevieve (Crosby) Kudlock. He was a graduate of Austin Joint School.

Steve worked for General Aluminum for 27 years following his 16 years at Emco Wheaton. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Conneaut.

As a young man, he played baseball in the Minor League with the Boston Red Sox organization and for coach Harold Shiley with the Springfield Merchants. He always enjoyed baseball and basketball and most importantly coaching his daughters’ softball teams. His other hobbies included walking, doing puzzles and playing bocce ball and softball with his family and friends.

Steve was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, coach and above all a selfless man that gave his all and expected nothing in return. His generosity was evident by the donations to many charities including veterans and childrens organizations. His greatest and most admirable quality was the love and support he showed for his family by always putting their needs and wants ahead of his own. His laughter was contagious and will always be remembered. Steve’s caring heart and compassionate, loving soul lives on in all who knew him. He will be forever missed.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia E. (Johnson) Kudlock, whom he married July 14, 1979; daughters, Corrine Kudlock and Charlene Kudlock; step-daughter, Patricia (Farrell) Bryson; sisters, Joann Daniels and Arlene Robbins; brother, Stanley Kudlock; and brothers-in-law, Robert Barr and Herb Daniels.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Patricia Barr.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, March 21st, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 480 State St., Conneaut. Officants will be the Rev. Fr. Philip Miller and the Rev. Fr. John Summers. A Memorial Service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, North Kingsville.

Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 20th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
