Theresia T. Moore

KINGSVILLE — Theresia Thekla Moore, of James Drive, Kingsville, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at her home, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

The daughter of Hans and Maria Grosell, she was born in Munich, Germany, on August 25, 1931.

On December 16, 1961 she became the much loved wife of Richard Moore and together they would have celebrated fifty-one years of marriage. She and Richard were residents of Mentor prior to moving to Kingsville to be near their children and grandchildren.

Thekla loved to listen to German music and dance; she enjoyed dancing with her husband and her friends. Her enthusiasm for gardening was unmatched; she enjoyed sharing her large flower bouquets with her friends and family. She loved to cook and everyone looked forward to eating her potato dumplings and pot roast.

Thekla’s greatest satisfaction came from being a wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed making her house a home. She will be remembered for her joy of life, growing beautiful flowers, and her courageous fight with Alzheimer’s disease. Most of all, Thekla’s love for her family had no boundaries.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Moore of Kingsville; her children, Thekla (Chester) Null of Harrison, Ohio, Donna (Matt) Danford of Sheffield Township, Helen (Jim) Huntington of Mentor-on-the-Lake and Ricky (Paula) Moore of Kingsville;  nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helga, Irene, Monica and Annelise, and brother, Peter, all of Germany; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty and Maria; brothers, Hans and Franz; and her parents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2nd, at her home, 2174 James Drive in Kingsville.

If desired, contributions in Thekla’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Western Reserve Hospice, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is in charge of arrangements. Obituary and condolences at www.ducro.com and starbeacon.com.
