JEFFERSON — Chester C. Price, age 94, of E. Union Road, Jefferson, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2012, in the emergency room at Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Jefferson, the son of Richard A. and Mamie (Stowers) Price and had resided here all of his life before retiring to Florida in 1978, returning to live with his son. He was married to Gladys E. Swanson on May 28, 1941, in Ashtabula.
Mr. Price was a retired truck driver from Weigand Trucking Co., previously he was an owner operator and drove for Linde Air for many years and operated his own trucking business. He was also an electrician and served as the head electrician for the Ashtabula Co. Fair for many years. During his retirement years in Florida, he owned and operated a crabbing company.
Mr. Price attended the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene and was a 50 year member of Tuscan Lodge #347, F.&A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys, living with her son in Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; two sons, Richard A. (Rosemary) Price of Jefferson and Dennis C. Price of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; a son-in-law, David C. Diehl of Jefferson; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie March in California.
His parents; a daughter, Valerie L. Diehl; and a brother, Clyde Price all preceded him in death.
