JEFFERSON —
Jennifer Sue (Lindsey) Donathan, age 62, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at her home. She was blessed with a wonderful husband, son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters, who were the light of her life.
Born in Warren, Ohio on Jan. 28, 1950 and a graduate of Leavittsburg High School, she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Youngstown State University.
Jennifer and Louie enjoyed line dancing on a weekly basis and made several good friends there. She was a member of Eagleville Bible Church and worked with children in the Eagles Nest. She also led various bible studies and her faith and understanding were an encouragement to many.
Jennifer helped implement the AWANA program at Bethel Bible Church. She was a substitute teacher in the Jefferson School system and loved working with children. She worked at the Ashtabula County Department of Human Services from 1978 to 1986 as a social worker for adult protective services and previously was employed in Trumbull County as a social worker.
An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Browns and Cleveland Indians. She also enjoyed attending several sporting events to cheer on her son and nieces and nephews.
An intelligent and funny person, her outward compassion for others will always be remembered. Jennifer had a gift for reaching out to others and making them feel better. She was a kind and loving sister, aunt, great-aunt and daughter and will always be remembered as the light of their lives. She lived her life with Louie with the enjoyment of doing everything they could together. Their focus was serving God and spending time with their family.
She is survived by her husband, Louie Donathan, whom she married Dec. 28, 1985; one son, Nathan and his wife, Meghan, both of whom she loved dearly; two precious granddaughters, Greenlee Faith and Eleigh Grace; her father, Hugh S. Lindsey of Warren; two sisters, Cindy (Gene) Rider of Bowling Green, Ky. and Dawn Rhodes of Southington, Ohio; and many other family members and friends that she loved and that will never forget her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl (Drescher) Lindsey.
A Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 17th, at Eagleville Bible Church, 1981 SR 45 North, Rock Creek, Ohio, with Pastor Bill McMinn officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 16th, at ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 or to the family.
