MEADVILLE, Pa. —
Richard C. Truran Jr., age 83, of Meadville, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at home.
He was born Jan. 20, 1929, in Meadville, the son of Richard C. Truran Sr. and Julia Coon Truran. He was a graduate of Meadville High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. Richard married Helen Gammell on Sept. 5, 1951; she preceded him in death on July 13, 2010.
He was the owner of Printcraft, Inc., in Conneaut, Ohio and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Richard was a member of Elk’s Lodge #219, P.E.R., P.D.D.G.E.R. and VFW #2006. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Miller of Meadville and Cynthia Thompson and her husband Eric of Conneaut; two sons, Richard C. Truran III and his wife Mary of Meaville and Thomas W. Truran and his wife Diane of Girard; son-in-law, Joseph Simonette of Meadville; 12 grandchildren, Michael Simonette, Matthew Simonette, Hilary Kahl, Jonathan Truran, Brian Truran, Christina Shamp, Jacqueline Beers, Lisa Miller, Jesse Thompson, Bryan Morris, Danielle Morris and Jordan Morris; nine great-grandchildren, Brandon and Allison Simonette, Nick, Alex and Ashley Simonette, Kaizen Morris, Parker Dean, Gavin Kahl and Ryder Beers; and three sisters, Charlotte Kasbee of Cambridge Springs, Louise Mushrush of Meadville and Marjorie Filegar and her husband John of Meadville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; daughter, Marilyn Simonette; and a daughter-in-law, Sheri Truran.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 14th, at HATHEWAY-TEDESCO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, Pa. The Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen, of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment at Greendale Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the Funeral Home, with an Elk’s Service at 6 p.m.
