CANONSBURG, Pa. — Mary Ellen Keeler, age 82, of Canonsburg, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Golden Living Retirement Center, Canonsburg, Pa.
Born April 22, 1930, in Canonsburg, she was the daughter of Pressley W.C. and Helen (Meredith) Keeler.
She was a life-long member of St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg. She enjoyed painting, reading, cross-stitch, photography and visiting her family in Ohio.
As a child, she loved going to summer camp in Maine.
In her young adult life, she spent many happy years at her father’s farm on Footville-Richmond Road in Jefferson.
A devoted daughter, she cared for her mother, Helen, until her death in 1988.
Miss Keeler’s life centered around her family and she doted on her nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews, never forgetting a birthday, holiday or special event with a card and warm greeting.
Surviving are her brother, Pressley J. Keeler of Wynnewood, Okla.; two nieces, Shelley (David) Terry of Jefferson; Ellen (Andrew) Kolman of Ashtabula; former sister-in-law, Mary Ellen (Thomas) Talcott of Jefferson; cousin, the Rev. Father Bob McDevitt of Los Gatos, Calif.; two great-nieces, Michelle (Gruber) Deist of Twinsburg and Melissa Kolman of Ashtabula; and five great-nephews, David (Lindsey) Gruber of Hong Kong and Brett, Alexander, Kevin and Timothy Kolman, all of Ashtabula; and one great-great-niece, Abigail Mann of Twinsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Blessing and Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at SOLLON FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 30 E. College St., Canonsburg. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carnegie, Pa.
