LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Eino Sinkkonen, age 94, of Lake Worth, Fla., passed away early Friday morning, Feb. 1, 2013, at the Finnish-American Nursing Home in Lake Worth.
Eino was born in Finland on April 17, 1918, the son of Emil and Helja (Luukonen) Sinkkonen. He was a former Ashtabula resident moving here in 1955.
A member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Eino was a gifted singer and sang in Finnish on many occasions and also funerals for Finnish Americans through the years.
He had been a machine operator for Rockwell International and had worked for Yoder Brothers also.
He is survived by a daughter, Leena Skiba, of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Olavi in Finland; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife, Martha.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date in the spring.
