Marlene Kirchner

CONNEAUT — Marlene “Micki” Kirchner, age 76, of Conneaut, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at ACMC Hospice Unit, with her husband, Gerald at her side.

Micki was born August 20, 1936, in Coshocton, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Ruth (Steele) Bowe. She was a 1954 graduate of St. Frances Catholic High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

Micki worked at the former Halle’s in Cleveland, Ohio as an elevator operator, and later was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary/ St. Frances Cabrini Parish. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling, gardening, crafts and traveling to the Finger Lakes and visiting the local wineries. She enjoyed shopping and loved to “supervise” her husband, Gerald.

Micki was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Ray Frazier.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Kirchner of Conneaut, whom she married Sept. 11, 1982, at St. Peter’s Church in Cleveland, Ohio; daughter, Victoria and Tim Miller of North Ridgeville, Ohio; son, Stephen Metzger of Wickliffe, Ohio; sisters, Paula and Carl Amolsch of Lyndhurst, and MK Frazier of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Christina and Kelsey; and “Mamaw” to Alex, Matt and Cassie.

Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16th, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17th, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with Father John Summers presiding. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut, at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ACMC nurses on the 2nd floor Intensive Care Unit and to the staff and caregivers of the Hospice of the Western Reserve during Micki’s illness.
