KINGSVILLE —
Helen DeZolt, age 94, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died on Sunday morning, April 29, 2012, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 6, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Johan and Anna (Tomberg) Rasanen. Helen graduated from Harbor High School, Class of 1936. She married “her dearie” Joseph DeZolt in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Nov. 24, 1945.
Mrs. DeZolt worked at Ashtabula General Hospital and Nystrom Dry Cleaning.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Women of Bethany, Senior Citizens Group of Bethany and the Finnish American Heritage Association. Helen also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with her sisters-in-law and playing bingo.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Clara Cimorelli; sister and brother-in-law, Molly and Andy Grippi; sister-in-law, Clara DeZolt; nieces and nephews, Ellen Elsa Shepard, Kathy Andrea, George Haapala, Audrey Trobe, Jacquelyn Eagens, Frank (Ruth) Jokinen, Gina Mongenel, Carole Mazzola, Kevin (Sharon) Cimorelli, Karl (Bernadette) Cimorelli, Keith Grippi, Bruce Grippi, Terry (Jill) Rose, Karen (Rick) Riegel, Ralph (Marie) Rose, Ernie Michael DeZolt, Linda (Rusty) Hare, Kim (Rocky) Tavone, Gene Maria (John) Radi, Margaret DeZolt, Veronica DeZolt, Larita (Luther) Lane and Jimmy DeZolt; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joseph DeZolt.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., TODAY, Wednesday, May 2nd, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 933 Michigan Ave., Ashtabula, with Pastor Larry Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at the Church.
