ASHTABULA —
Mabel J. (Wheeler) Erb, age 88, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Born August 12, 1923, in Erie, Pa., she was the daughter of Lemuel G. and Maude J. (Hughson) Wheeler. A graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Mabel worked as a dental assistant. She married John J. “Jack” Erb on May 10, 1944, in Erie, Pa.
Mabel was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She was known for her quick wit and humor. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, decorating, bingo and crocheting, but especially the time she spent with her family and friends.
Survivors include children, Bill (Maryann) Erb, Tom Erb, Beth (Greg) Foglio, Jayne (Don) Koski and John (Christina) Erb; grandchildren, Mark (Emily) Erb, Chad Medrick, Bob (Emily) Erb, Zach (Danielle) Erb, Sherry Erb, Daniel Foglio, Julie Foglio, Gregory Tyler Foglio, Sarah Koski, Laura (Derek) Miggins, Alex (Michaela) Koski, Tyler Erb, Erica Erb and Nicholas Erb; great-grandchildren, Hannah Noufer, Evelyn Koski, Adalaide Koski, Andrew Erb, Cassandra Erb, Damyn Erb, Zac Erb and Gregory Medrick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. “Jack” Erb on Sept. 18, 2011; her parents; grandchildren, Jennifer Erb and Edward Medrick; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Erb; and brothers, Jack Wheeler, Jim Wheeler and Donald Wheeler.
Funeral Service will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, May 30th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, Ohio, with Fr. Kevin Peters, of St. Angela Merici, Youngstown, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula.
Calling Hours will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Service, Wednesday, at the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
