ANDOVER —
Etta Mae Bowser, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Luella (Piper) and Burt Fiscus. Mrs. Bowser was a 1941 graduate of Andover High School. On March 10, 1945, she married Harlan Clayton Bowser.
She worked as a press operator for twenty-five years for Target Stamped Products of Williamsfield, Ohio. Mrs. Bowser also worked at the former Miller Memorial Nursing Home and Andover Laundry mat.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Andover.
Mrs. Bowser was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved to tend to her flower garden and vegetable garden. She loved to bake and cook, and won any baking contest she entered. Mrs. Bowser was a Den Mother and a Girl Scout leader, she was active in the school PTA and anything her family was involved in.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of thirty-six years, Harlan C. Bowser; three infant children; two daughters, Gloria Bowser and Mary Bowser; a son, Gary Bowser; a sister, Dorothy Giddings; and two brothers, Russell and Warner Beals.
Survivors include five daughters, Connie (Marty) Smith of Wichita, Kansas, Virginia (Tom) Roberts of Jefferson, Ohio, Marleah (Dave) Clark of Pierpont, Ohio, Bonnie (Ron) Grady of Andover, Ohio, and Sophia (Randy) Shuttleworth of Andover, Ohio; three sons, Robert (Elaine) Bowser of Corona, Calif., Ronald (Liz) Bowser of Geneva, Ohio, and Ricky Bowser of Andover, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, June 11th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio, with Pastor Robert Gears officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be on Sunday, June 10th, from 6 until 8 p.m.
