ASHTABULA — Thomas Cichy, age 61, a resident of Ashtabula, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born Sept. 21, 1951, in Ashtabula, to Lottie (Prokop) and Melvin Cichy and was a 1969 Graduate of Edgewood High. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Europe. Thomas married Patty Blum on August 2, 1986 in Saybrook.
Thomas worked in Quality Assurance at Lincoln Electric. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Ashtabula. Thomas loved traveling with his wife, Patty and spending time with his family. His sons were his pride and his grandson was his joy. He also enjoyed cooking, learning foreign languages and enjoyed sports.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Cichy of Ashtabula; sons, Scott (Nadine) Cichy of Columbus and Matthew Blum of Geneva; and his grandson, Orion Cichy of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, June Cichy.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8th, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Joseph Chapel, 3312 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio.
