ASHTABULA — Shelby Vance, age 75, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born August 30, 1937, in Floyd County, Ky., she was the daughter of Dave and Martha Johnson. She married her husband, Gus Vance, in 1954. She loved spending time with her family.
Shelby had worked for Yoder Brothers for 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Gus Vance of Ashtabula; sons, Gus Jr. (Bonita) Vance, Kenny Vance, Lloyd (Lolita) Vance and James (Cindy) Vance, all of Ashtabula; daughter, Linda Kennedy of Ashtabula; brothers, Dennis Johnson, Michael Johnson and Bud Johnson, all of Ashtabula; sisters, Maxine Hall and Patty Cole, both of Ashtabula; daughter-in-law, Shirley Dempsey of West Virginia; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Shelby was preceded in death by her parents; son, Benny; grandson, Danny; brothers, Hatler and Robert Johnson; and sister, Glenda.
Funeral Services are 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 15th, at POTTI LAKESIDE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Kenneth Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Saybrook Cemetery.
Calling Hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14th, at the Funeral Home.
