GENEVA — Janice L. Hanes (née: Dixon), age 73, of Geneva, Ohio, a homemaker, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Geneva Village Retirement Home in Geneva.
Born Nov. 8, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Janet (née: Hubbel) Dixon. She lived in Mentor prior to moving to Geneva 3 years ago.
She enjoyed reading and playing with her cats; her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Janice is survived by Deborah (Arthur) Scott of Windsor Township, Diane Shafer of Ashtabula, Janet (Steve) Balaz of Austinburg, John (Rose) Joseph of Florida, Lee Ann (Rosario Gonzalez) Joseph of Texas, Todd Joseph of Texas and Wesley Dixon of Korea; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and longtime friend, Paul Castellano.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marie Joseph; son, James Dixon; and grandson, Michael (Laura) Scott.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 p.m., Noon, on Thursday, Jan. 10th, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor, Ohio. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., Thursday, until time of Service at the Church..
