Esther P. Graf

ASHTABULA — Esther Pauline (née: Hetrick) Graf, age 85, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at The Villa At The Lake.

Born March 2, 1928, in Canton, Ohio, she was a daughter of Walter and Pearl (Marker) Hetrick. She was the beloved wife for 60 years of the late Robert G. Graf Sr. (2007).

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Conneaut, where she served 33 years as the financial secretary, sang and directed the choir, and was the piano player. She was also a very active member of the Salem Rebekah’s #385 of the International Order of Odd Fellows. In 2006, she received the Senior Citizen Award from the Conneaut City Council.

Her hobbies included bowling in numerous leagues and was the county youth secretary-treasurer for 30 years with the bowling organization. She also enjoyed crocheting, working the voting polls and sending letters to shut-ins.

Survivors include four children, Rebecca (Philip) Smith of Richmond, Va., Robert (Cyndi) Graf II of North Kingsville, Ohio, Tena (George) Robotham and Ronald (Barbara) Graf, both of Elgin, Ill.; two step-daughters, Donita (Wendell) Jensen of Findlay, Ohio, and Roberta Lou Brammer of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy Frase of Florida; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Graf Sr.; her parents; eight brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter, Glenna Brammer.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23rd, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 22nd, at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
