Forde E. Page

NORTH KINGSVILLE — Forde E. Page, age 91, of North Kingsville, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Ashtabula County Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Forde was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Geneva, Ohio, the son of Bassel O. and Dorothy Cleaver Page. He was a 1938 graduate of Kingsville School.

Forde worked at the former Bow & Socket as a painter and later entered the United States Army in 1944, where he served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1946. Forde returned home and worked at Page Dairy Farm until 1958. He retired from Union Carbide-Linde Gas Division as a supervisor of Safety Training, following 21 years of service to the company.

Forde was a member of Kingsville First Baptist Church and was an avid woodworker who enjoyed gardening. He loved farming, traveling with family and friends and church activities. He was a life member of the Vanderburgh Trust Committee and a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. He also was a member of the Buckeye Board of Education for 8 years and with the Kingsville Zoning Board for 10 years.

Forde was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ada Mae (Reynolds) Page; a daughter, Carol Vanek; a daughter-in-law, Linda Page; an infant brother and infant sister; step-mother, Irene Chapman Page; a brother, Lloyd Page; son-in-law, Bill Frey; and grandson, Michael Mauro.

Forde is survived by his loving wife, Alma (McConnell) Page whom he married Oct. 16, 1999; a son, Rev. Robert Page of Crystal Springs, Ill.; a daughter, Pamela (Don) Stasko of Birmingham, Ala.; brother, Charles Page of Kingsville; son-in-law, Ray Vanek; five step-children, Terry (Regina) McConnell, Shirley (Gene) Yoak, Nancy (Bill) Frey, Jackie (Joe) Bernardo and Emmy (Mike) Mauro; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and his dog, “Shadow.”

Calling Hours will be held TODAY, Friday, Feb. 3rd, at Kingsville First Baptist Church, 6003 St. Rt. 193, Kingsville, Ohio, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Kingsville First Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 4th, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Hines, of Kingsville First Baptist Church, and Forde’s son, the Rev. Robert Page officiating. Burial will follow at Lulu Falls Cemetery, Kingsville, Ohio. American Legion Cowle Post 151 will conduct Military Services at the Cemetery.

Memorial contributions and flowers can be sent to the First Baptist Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church or RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, where arrangements are being handled.
