ASHTABULA — Patricia Mae Townsend, age 76, of Carterland Drive, Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1936, the daughter of William H. and Geraldine (Stroble) McFadden and had been an Ashtabula resident since she moved here from Painesville in 2008.
Prior to her retirement in 2001, she worked for Quartz Scientific and Kmart. She also worked at Wayside Gardens, where she really got to know her flowers. Pat also spent numerous hours volunteering for the Ashtabula County Special Olympics.
Patricia was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles and the Moose Clubs. Pat enjoyed doing word searches, was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cavs Fan, and she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, she was always their #1 Fan. Most of all, Patricia loved spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren. She always opened her house and her heart to many, the legacy of her life will never be forgotten.
Her survivors include six children, Daniel (Faye) Hearn, Brian (Carol) Hearn and Frederick (Missy) Townsend, all of Ashtabula and Robert (Sheryl) Hearn, Ruth Lillstrung and Tammy (Rich) Thayer, all of Painesville; four brothers, David (Glenna) McFadden of Florida, William H. McFadden of Texas, Raymond McFadden of Painesville and Robert (Sandy) McFadden of Youngstown; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Hearn; and her parents.
A Service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God, officiating. Burial of Patricia’s ashes will be on Thursday, Nov. 15th, at 11 a.m. at the Center Road Cemetery in Perry Township.
Calling Hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13th, at the Funeral Home.
