PAINESVILLE — Funeral Services for Elwood L. Patchin, age 89, will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at SPEAR-MULQUEENY FUNERAL HOME, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio, where friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.
The son of Paul and Ethel (Taylor) Patchin, Elwood was born on May 4, 1923, in Huntsburg, Ohio.
A Veteran, Elwood served in the U.S. Army during World War II, participating in the Asiatic Theatre. He retired in 1983 as a Truck Driver from Motor Express in Cleveland.
He enjoyed camping, traveling around the United States, snowmobiling, and motorcycling.
Survivors include four daughters, Connie (Kenneth) Young of Painesville, Kathleen (Danny) Hummel of Hartsgrove, Paulette (Ray) Dyling of Windsor and Rochelle Beal of Middlefield; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; a brother, Montie (Carmen) Patchin of Painesville; and a sister, Carol (Richard) Searles of Painesville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Robbins) Patchin and two sisters, Cleo Leonard and Pauline Wilson.
