Amboy halves match

After a week off because of a bye, the Amboy Rifle Club returned with a split of its match against visiting Albion, Pa.  on Friday night.

The locals fell in the actual, 1,968-1,886, but prevailed in the handicap, 37-31.

Leading the way for ARC in the actual were Calvin Johnson (383), Dennis Mitchell Jr. (376), Chad Holden (374), Greg Hahn (373) and Zack Laugen (368).

Best efforts in the handicap were by Paul Labounty (10), Dave Manupella (10), R.J. Best (7), R.D. (Eagle Eye) Best 6 and Hahn (4).

Amboy, now 2-4 in actuals and 4-2 in handicaps, will invade Corry, Pa. on Friday at 8 p.m. The two squads will square off in a doubleheader.

    Then again, odds are, he wasn’t around to blow out the candles at such an age, but no one is sure.
    For while we know James Joseph Burns was born on June 2, 1876 in Ashtabula, there is no record of his death.
