Aurora gets past Perry

Aurora scored 29 points in the second and third quarters combined to down Perry, 41-7, in Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division play Friday night at Aurora.

Aurora quarterback George Bollas scored on runs of 71 and 72 yards for the Greenmen (7-1, 4-1) and added a 10-yard scoring run later for good measure. He also connected with Jake McVay and Jake Czerwinsky on scoring strikes of 26 and 5 yards, respectively.

Bollas rambled for 154 yards and passed for 118 more.

Michael Sorine accounted for Perry’s lone touchdown, a 15-yard run.   

The Pirates (3-5, 2-3) were led by Cale Burdyshaw, who passed for 108 yards and ran for another 27. Mason Martin added 39 yards on the ground. Luke Farrell caught three passes for 72 yards and Zak Hurd had two receptions for 36 yards.

  • Lakeside rolls past East

    One of the great lessons in sports competitions is to play with the maximum effort in utilizing your own skills and talents. It’s a lot easier said than done, but the Lakeside Dragons got a full dose of it Thursday afternoon as they tangled with a youthful and inexperienced group of Panthers from Youngstown East in a Division I sectional semifinal ballgame. The Dragons came out on top, 12-0.
