Area High School Football Players of the Week — Week 7

CONNEAUT:

Offensive Player of the Week — Troy Colucci — 83 passing yds, 203 yards rushing on 39 carries, 4 TD.

Defensive Player of the Week — Billy Post  — 5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack.

Special-teams Player of the Week — None.



EDGEWOOD:

Offensive Players of the Week —
  Riis Smith and Connor McLaughlin — Smith had 12 carries, 61 yards, 1 touchdown;  McLaughlin had 2 catches for 38 yards, 1 touchdown.

Defensive Player of the Week —  Jarrod Harrah, Matt Fitchet, Mason Lilja — Harrah had 5 tackles; Fitchet had 5 tackles; Lilja had 5 tackles, 1 interception for 17 yards.

Special-teams Player of the Week — Anthonie Magda and Dylan McCaleb — Magda had 3 kickoff returns for 59 yards; McCaleb had 2 returns for 60 yards, including a 47-yard kickoff return.



GENEVA:

Offensive Player of the Week — Brandon Pakkala — Quarterback threw for 120 yards and 1 TD, a 37-yard to Austin Clutter.

Defensive Player of the Week — Travis Blake (14 tackles) and Dakota Brininger (10 tackles).

Special-teams Player of the Week — None.



GRAND VALLEY:

Offensive Player of the Week — The offensive line and Sean Szitas — Behind his linemen, Szitas had 18 carries for 115 yards rushing.

Defensive Player of the Week — Sean Szitas — Had 14 tackles, 6 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Special-teams Player of the Week — Tyler Drenski (blocked extra point) and Jason Hart.



JEFFERSON:

Offensive Player of the Week — Tony Chiacchiero — 20-33 passing, 288 yards and 2 TDs.

Defensive Player of the Week — Kyle Ashburn — Had 5 tackles, 3 assists, 1 interception, 1 fumble caused, 1 fumble recovery.

Special-teams Player of the Week — Jesse Skvarek  — Had 3 specials-teams tackles.



LAKESIDE:

Offensive Player of the Week —  Manny Lucas — Had  36 carries for 190 yards rushing.

Defensive Players of the Week —  Shawn Gilbert — Had 5 tackles, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery and another big hit.

Special-teams Player of the Week — None.



MADISON:

Offensive Player of the Week —
  Mark Murray.

Defensive Player of the Week —  Bo Ransom.

Special-teams Player of the Week — None.



PERRY

Offensive Player of the Week  — Mason Martin.

Defensive Player of the Week —  Stephen Cooper.

PYMATUNING VALLEY:

Offensive Player of the Week  — Quintin Ratliff — Had 13 rushes for 161 yards and 2 TDs.

Defensive Player of the Week —  Kyle Conger — Had 7 tackles and 2 tackles for loss.

Special-teams Player of the Week — None.



RIVERSIDE:

Offensive Player of the Week —
Sonny Remington — Offensive lineman has had great overall consistency at his position and had best personal performance of the season last week.

Defensive Player of the Week — August Runyon — Defensive end had 7 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.

Special-teams Player of the Week  —  Chad Ely — Had excellent kick coverage and blocking on numerous special teams.

    In a perfect world, Jefferson and Edgewood would prevail in their respective Division II district semifinal baseball contests tonight and square off Tuesday with a district championship on the line.
