Classic coaches

Bench bosses named for Star Beacon’s annual VB match, set for Tuesday at Lakeside

The teams have been set for 2012 Star Beacon-Frank Roskovics senior classic. The men and women who will guide those teams are now in place.

Guiding one team will be St. John coach Stephanie Kubec and Pymatuning Valley coach Rob Wludyga. Leading the other will be Riverside’s Brandy Thomas and Madison’s Brynn Ryan.

The match will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside.

The public-address announcer for the match will once again be Super Dave Simpson and singing the national anthem will 3-year-old Nathan Jernigan. Officials for the match are Rick Nemet and Liz Vento.

Playing for Kubec and Wludyga are Kubec’s daughter Brenna Kubec and her St. John teammate Brenna Powers. They are joined by PV’s Ally Workman, Heather Brant and Michealia Skleres, Madison’s Hallie Vollmar and Ashley Hixon, Conneaut’s Lydia Coccitto and Angie Zappitelli, Riverside’s Rachel Bares and Maria Zito, Perry’s MEgan Reid and Courtney Brassow and Edgewood’s Judith Silvieus and Jaime Rogers.

Ryan and Thomas’ team will consist of Maggie Julius and Alexis Parsons of Riverside, Allie Klimko and Haley Dake of Madison, Alexa Roberts and Tori Toth of Perry, Katie Thomas and Abby Pisano of Edgewood, Natalie Thomas of Geneva, LeeAnn Farr and Giulia Giancola of Jefferson, Paige Halsey and Emily Gehring of Lakeside and Sarah Bixel and Kelly Preske of Grand Valley.

Rob Rich of PlayAll Awards and Engraving is donating Player of the Match plaques for a player on each team.
