Lakeside’s Kelly latest Ringer

He’s certainly no average Joe.

In fact, he’s a Ringer... as in the Ringer Screen Print Player of the Week.

Joe Kelly of the Lakeside Dragons had a big night in helping coach Bill Lipps’ squad to a 42-13 victory against visiting Chardon in a Premier Athletic Conference game Friday night at Lakeside Stadium.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound senior began the scoring in the romp with a 70-yard dash for a touchdown.

In the third quarter, he bettered that effort — running back a Chardon kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown.

He carried the football only three times in the victory — but averaged 28.0 yards per attempt.

He wasn’t done, however.

On the defensive side of the football, he had 13 tackles, including one for a loss, and one of his hits forced a Hilltopper fumble.

For his efforts, he will sweatshirt, courtesy of John Ringer, owner, operator, bottle washer of Ringer Screen Print, located in North Kingsville.
