It took extra time, but the Conneaut seventh-grade boys basketball team outlasted Braden, 33-29.
Justin Franklin tallied 10 points and Eric Heinonen and Jeff Gonzalez each tallied seven for the Spartans.
Marcus Ernst netted 13 points to lead the Bulldogs.
Braden avenged the loss in the eighth-grade contest with a 30-16 victory over the Spartans.
Alex Wisnyai scored 14 points to lead Braden (9-3). Jeff Gonzalez added eight.
Justin Myers and Alex Gerdes each scored five points for Conneaut.
Braden will be back in action Wednesday at Cornerstone Christian.
Girls
Emily Smock scorched the nets for 10 points as the Jefferson eighth graders downed Campbell Memorial, 30-16.
All eight players scored in the game for Jefferson (4-9).
Campbell Memorial downed the Falcons, 25-21, in double overtime in the seventh-grade game.
Gia Dibble paced the Falcons (2-10) with nine points.
Jefferson hosts LaBrae on Wednesday with the seventh graders tipping off at five.

The Grand Valley Mustangs used timely hitting, strong pitching and a dazzling play in the field to continue their impressive run through the Division III state playoffs as they knocked off the Orrville Red Raiders, 7-4, in a regional semifinal at Carl “Ducky” Schroeder Field at Massillon Washington High School.
