Mitchum carries Zehrco-Giancola past One-Cut

A six-run third inning and a pair of five-run rallies powered Zehrco-Giancola to an 18-6 victory Thursday over One-Cut Construction in Softball City Men’s League action and kept it undefeated.

Adam Mitchem led the offense for Zehrco-Giancola (6-0) with a home run among three hits in support of Kevin Sandella. Dustin Rhodes, Tony Tarbell and Terry Tulino each added three hits and Jayson Aponte blasted a homer among two hits. Dan Henderson smashed two homers and Bruce Kruzelak had three hits for One-Cut.

n Just In Time Staffing 24, Subway-Chop’s 7 — A 12-run fourth inning was all JIT needed for its win. Jaime Presciano ripped a pair of three-run homers among three hits, while winning pitcher Mike Johnson helped himself with a three-run homer and a double among three hits for JIT (4-1). Danny Juhola also homered and doubled among three hits, while Randy Aponte, Andy Juhola and Scott Melnik each had three hits and Josh Mulholland, Jacob Newsome and Tony Presciano each had two hits. Tim Leonard led Subway-Chop’s (1-4) with three hits, while Kyle Sholtis homered among two hits and Matt Mallone also belted a homer.

n Creekside Inn-Truckin’ Softball 24, Snap Fitness 6 — Josh Cooper clouted two homers among four hits, winning pitcher Jay Yuhasz also had two roundtrippers among three hits and Dave Rowland added four hits for Creekside-Truckin’.

n Snap Fitness 15, Thom’s 5 — Jason Pupparo was the winning pitcher for Snap (2-4).



Conneaut

American Legion unleashed a 22-hit attack on Classic Landscaping-Wright’s Garage in an 18-5 victory. Cris Newcomb belted a three-run homer among four hits, while Steve Wahonick also had four hits for American Legion (4-1). Scott Dalrymple contributed three hits, while Bill Izzi and J.C. Lenk each smacked homers. Kyle Mayo led Classic-Wright’s with a two-run homer and a solo shot.
