Sidbecks brave the Reds

SANDLOT ROUNDUP

Austin Sidbeck struck out six batters and had four hits to lead the Braves past the Reds, 13-6, in Minor Division baseball action Friday night.

Patton Sidbeck and Mitchell Dragon each added three hits for the Braves (12-2). Derek Melendez had two hits, including a homer, to lead the Reds (8-4), while Tyler Kinney and Matt Sidbeck each had two hits and Antonio Acierno had a home run.

- WAYNE SENITA ROOFING CARDINALS 19, PLAST PRO INC. INDIANS 5 - Justin Stitt ripped three hits, including a home run, to lead the Cardinals, while Jake Perry had three hits, including two doubles. Shawn Gilbert added three hits, including a triple, and Austin DiBell had three hits, including a double. Andrew Fusco smacked two doubles. P.J. Hall had two hits, including a triple, for the Indians.

- KINGSVILLE RED SOX 20, KINGSVILLE INDIANS 14 - Ben Foote ripped a grand slam and another home run to lead the Red Sox, while Ben Moisio had three hits, Zach Rogers had two hits and Matthew Fowler tripled. Quinten Blair had four hits, including a triple, for the Indians, while Lee Miller had two hits.

Minor SB

Courtney DiDonato ripped three hits, including a triple, to lead the Ashtabula Indians past the Ashtabula Marlins, 14-12, while Alexis Benedict had three hits, including a double. Aaliyah Allgood and Ashley Lockwood each added two hits, including a homer, and Toni Stranman smacked two hits, including a double. Sara Morehouse had three hits, including a double and a triple, to lead the Marlins, while Evelyn Johnson had three hits, including a double. Jordan Scott added two hits, including a double, and Kasey Hague had two hits. Erica Vant'veer and Kaylkee Severino each doubled.

- UNION INDUSTRIAL WHITE SOX 15, OLD FASHIONED FENCE INDIANS 4 - Andrea Davis struck out nine, had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the undefeated White Sox, while Jamie Verno added two hits, including a triple, and Aryn Cochran had two RBI for the Sox (9-0). Josie Foster had two hits for the Indians, while Jana Burke tripled and Stephanie Hall doubled.

Major BB

Sayvaugn Morgan ripped three hits, including a homer and a double, to lead the Braves past the Cardinals, 20-4, while Caleb Sidbeck added four hits, including two doubles. Devin Dioneff ripped a double and a triple and Jake Cimorelli had three hits. Ian Pertz added a double for the Braves (9-7). Jameel Bradley had two hits, including a double, for the Cardinals (6-10).

- AUSTINBURG BLUE Z TRANSPORT EAGLES 5, CORK BLUE JAYS 2 - Mike Tepley pitched a complete game and ripped a double to lead the Eagles while Derek Rose smacked a homer. Dakota Brinninger had two hits including a double to lead the Blue Jays.

Major SB

Leah Ellison tripled and doubled among four hits to lead the Kingsville Pirates to a 19-10 victory over the Conneaut A's. Ryan Kaydo homered and triple among three hits for the Braves, while Anna Applebee homered among four hits, Jordan Stills doubled among two hits and Kayla Lynch and Tiffany Stills each singled. Hannah Hicks blasted two homers among three hits for the A's, while Dani Heinonen tripled among three hits and Megan Reed doubled among three more hits.

    Riverside wrestling coach Scott Blank learned a good deal of what he knows from Edgewood coach Greg Stolfer as a former Warrior great. Thursday, he used a bit of that knowledge to get the better of his old coach as the Beavers bested the Warriors, 31-28, at Edgewood.

    Cody Miller and Zach Campbell knew what they had to do in order for the Pymatuning Valley wrestling team to complete a come-from-behind victory over Jefferson on Wednesday at triangular match at PV.
    The pair delivered exactly that and the Lakers pulled off the win, 37-36.
