Both Pymatuning Valley junior high girls basketball squads have reached the championship game of the Northeastern Athletic Conference Tournament — and both will face the same opponent — Lordstown.
The seventh-grade Lakers stayed perfect, moving to 15-0 with a 36-13 semifinal whipping of Ledgemont on Thursday.
Makayla Borris led the winners with 16 points, while sidekick Kelsea Brown chipped in with 12. Carissa Cantrell led Ledgmeont with 13 points.
In the eighth-grade semifinal, Geena Gabriel of the Lakers (13-3) led all scorers with 18 points and Hannah Bilek had six as PV edged Southington, 32-31. Rachel Wilson led the Wildcats with 14 points.
Both Laker squads will play Lordstown in their respective title games Monday at Badger.
