Sound defense in the first half and solid offensive play in the first half and fourth quarter carried the Madison girls basketball team to a 60-43 non-conference road victory Thursday over Western Reserve Academy.
The Blue Streaks (9-8, 6-4 in the Premier Athletic Conference) had an 11-9 lead after the first quarter and really took command in the second quarter for a 29-14 halftime lead. They closed out the game with a 23-16 fourth quarter.
Kate Oberstar led Madison with 19 points. Kelsey Koskinen added 15 points and nine rebounds and Chelsea Davis had 11 points.
