The KEN Heart Foundation is a 501 3 (c) non-profit organization. It has had a vital role in serving Northeastern Ohio for nine years. It was founded after the death of Ken Derminer to sudden cardiac arrest from an undiagnosed heart condition at a football minicamp at the local high school by his family.
The organization has spent countless hours connecting with physicians on research initiatives, defibrillation donations to area schools and nonprofit youth league organizations, and CPR/AED training in schools.
Most recently, we are striving to bring cost effective heart screenings to area youths and athletes. To launch this new initiative we are hosting an annual walk/run in hopes to raise awareness and make changes to prevent needless tragedies brought on by sudden cardiac arrest. The leading cause of fatalities on school property and youth athletics.
